Clearwater Awards Neighborhood Achievement Grants
In recent years, Clearwater city officials awarded $25,000 in grants to 13 neighborhoods as part of the city’s annual Clearwater Awards for Neighborhoods. Prizes ranging from $5,000 to $500 were presented to neighborhoods during the event. Due to budget restraints, the City is no longer sponsoring a neighborhood grant program.
Del Oro Groves Estates has won the following awards:
Neighborhood Sustainability Grant 2022, 2023, 2024
Best Food - Neighborhood's Day 2023
*City Manager’s Award for Charity and Volunteerism 2008 - Second Place
*Most Healthy and Fit Neighborhoods 2008
The program, developed by the city’s Neighborhood Services Department, were designed to strengthen the community with neighborhood activities and involvement at the grassroots level. Over the course of one year, neighborhoods implemented projects such as creative social events, fundraisers, block parties, charity events, beautification projects, newsletters and other communications tools. They chronicled their efforts in scrapbooks or videos and presented their achievements before a panel of judges. The award money was used for further positive neighborhood involvement and improvement activities in the neighborhoods.
