The Storm Drain Art & Preservation Effort
Tamara Wilt and her family and friends have been a big help to the ongoing tradition of painting the storm drains. We learned recently that the City of Clearwater has paused the support of this program, so we are grateful for the artwork we have to date.
John Breen preserved each storm drain art in 2025 by putting a sealant on them. This should last for 2 years.
A big thank you to Kristin Langley and the volunteers Wes and Jack Bumgarner who helped clean up and preserve the storm drains in 2023 that were beautifully decorated by Marion Rowe in 2020. In fact, Marion was featured on ABC Action News in 2020 for the amazing artwork she painted on to these rather mundane concrete structures of our community. Marion and her husband have moved on but left a legacy we will cherish forever.
