Del Oro Groves Estates HOA established the role of liaison into the City of Clearwater several years ago to make our communications with the City easier and provide a consistent message. This role has expanded to cover assisting all of our residents with questions and issues they might have with the City. So, what can our liaison do to help you with city problems?
1. Effective July 1, 2021, no complaint may be filed with any governmental entity anonymously. A complainant must provide their name and address in order to forward an issue to the City. Most of us don’t want to be seen as a complainer even if it is to tell the City that your neighbor is now raising llamas in their back yard. So how do you handle this without looking like a whiner?
2. Someone ran a stop sign, raced their car through Del Oro, or was texting and almost hit you while you were walking. How do you address that issue?
3. While walking through Del Oro Park, you noticed that someone appears to be living in the picnic pavilion. Who do you call?
4. You heard that the little strip mall across McMullen-Booth is going to have a nude bar. Good grief, who can stop that?
5. A cyclist on the trail raced by you and almost knocked you over. You are still trying to catch your breath.
6. There is a pothole or sinkhole in the street. What department handles that?
7. The mosquitos are breeding like crazy; how do you get mosquito control out here fast?
8. My street light is out.
There are many more issues that the City or County can help us with, but it is hard know with whom to speak. This is now the job of our liaison. Her name is Kristin Langley and she is the Vice President of the HOA. So, if you have an issue, just call her cell at 727-421-2380. She will be your voice into the City.
